6 Summer Trend Swaps

Ever notice how you often rock a trend before your friends, and by the time they do, you’ve moved on? That’s because you’re a bona fide trendsetter, and as such it’s your sartorial responsibility to stay two well-heeled steps ahead of pack. The rest of the world needs you!

As we move into summer there are a few on-the-rise trends you should embrace so I’ve put together a simple cheat sheet of what’s hot and what to get out of your closet (to make room for all these new trends, of course!) Find out what to store and the must-have pieces you should replace them with, stat.  Trendy style is not something to be taken lightly.

One

OffTheShoulderTop
OFF – SHOULDER TOP

Nineties-inspired crop tops are great staples to pair with high-waisted bottoms, but we suggest upgrading to the elevated and equally sexy off-the-shoulder top, which will continue its reign well into summer.

Two

SlipDress

SLIP DRESS

Sporty, ribbed dresses served as a go-to basic for spring layers, but a slinky slip dress is a sexier, chicer version of a versatile frock.

Three

ColoredCrochet
MULTI-COLOURED CROCHET

Exude boho style in intricate patterns and vibrant colors.  The 70s is one trend that doesn’t die… and I’m completely ok with that.

Four

RolledJeans
FOLDED CROP JEANS

Kick-flare jeans dominated skinnies last season. To refresh the cropped jean trend choose a folded-leg pair.  Whether it be boyfriend or skinny… just fold it up.

Five

Rattan Bag
RATTEN BAG

Woven rattan bags shaped as structured, boxy minis go perfectly in line with summer’s vacation vibes over the saddle crossbody.  As you can see, DIY-esque pieces like rattan and crochet are totally taking over this summer.  Time to take up a new hobby!

Six

Espadrilles
ESPADRILLES

Say goodbye to millions of straps and crazy cut outs.  While I am not 100% over the gladiator sandal craze, I am excited to be moving away from it- even if it is ever so slowly.  Replace these with a minimal espadrille flat with a ribbon ankle tie or polished leather straps, and step your shoe game up.
So, here’s what you need to do to step your game up, and be a true stunna this summer.
